Services
How it reaches you, what happens if you send it back, how to size it, and how to look after it once it stays. Everything we will do for a piece for as long as you own it.
Shipping destinations
Within India. Every serviceable PIN code in the country, with no exceptions and no zone surcharge. Free, fully insured, signature required on delivery.
Outside India. Most countries, door to door, fully insured. Write to sales@orivajewels.in with the piece and the destination and we confirm the carrier, the timeline and the complete landed cost in writing before you pay anything.
Import duty and local tax at the destination are set by that country, payable by the recipient, and are not included in the price. We cannot pay them on your behalf or under-declare a parcel to reduce them.
Shipping and handling charges
- Domestic shipping — nil. On every order, of every value, to every PIN code. There is no minimum and no express surcharge.
- Insurance — nil. Every parcel is insured for its full value while it travels, at our cost, in both directions.
- Packaging — nil. Sealed box, hallmarked tag and, where the piece has one, its grading report.
- International freight — at cost. Quoted and agreed before payment. We do not add a handling margin to it.
- Duty and local tax — payable by the recipient, as per actuals at the time of delivery.
Delivery timeline
Five to seven working days within India. Some pieces are finished and waiting; most are made once you order. If a piece is being made to order we confirm the date with you before you pay, rather than after.
Your tracking number goes out the day the parcel leaves us. International timelines depend on the destination and are confirmed with your quote.
Weighed before it ships
The gold weight on a product page is the design weight. A finished piece can come out a little under or over it, so every piece is weighed before it leaves us. If it weighs less than listed, the difference goes to your ORIVA account as credit — the gold and making you paid for that weight, with the GST on it, at your invoice rate — before the parcel ships, valid for six months against anything here. If it weighs more, that is on us.
If a shipment goes missing
Every shipment is insured for its full value. If a piece does not arrive, tell us and we remake it or refund you.
Chasing the courier is our job, not yours.
Refund
Fifteen days from delivery. The piece must be unworn and come back in its original packaging with the invoice, the hallmarked tag and the grading report it arrived with. A return missing any of those cannot be processed.
Made-to-order, engraved and resized pieces cannot be returned. The product page says so before you buy, not afterwards.
Once the piece reaches us we check it and refund to the original payment method within seven working days. Your bank usually takes a further three to five days to show it.
Return charges
Domestic orders. Our courier collects the parcel from your address anywhere in India. You pay nothing to send a piece back, and it stays insured for its full value the whole way.
International orders. Return freight and any duty on the return leg are yours. Use an insured, tracked service — an uninsured parcel that goes missing cannot be refunded, by us or by anyone.
Wrong, damaged or not as described. Everything is at our cost, both ways, wherever you are in the world. Photograph the piece and the packaging before you send it back.
How to start a return
Open the order in your account and use Exchange / Return, or write to sales@orivajewels.in or call +91 98196 65350 within fifteen days of delivery, with your order number.
Wait for our confirmation before sending anything. A parcel that arrives unannounced cannot be matched to an order, and we cannot insure a pickup we did not arrange.
Pack the piece in its own box with everything that came with it. We will send the pickup, and you will get a tracking number for the return leg as well.
Lifetime exchange
Separate from returns, and with no time limit at all. Any ORIVA piece can be brought back and exchanged at 100% of its gold value and 80% of the value of its laboratory-grown diamonds, both at the rate prevailing on the day you bring it in — not the price you paid.
Eighty per cent on the stones is what we can honour without quietly withdrawing it later. A promise you cannot keep is worse than a smaller one you can. The exchange is a credit against another ORIVA piece, and applies to pieces bought and delivered within India.
Nothing is credited until the piece reaches us, is weighed by hand and the request is approved. The figure shown online is indicative until then.
The full guide, with drawings and the tables, is on the Size page. The short version:
Rings
A ring size is the inside width of the ring in millimetres. Measure a ring you already wear on that finger, or wrap a strip of paper round the finger and measure the length. Size 12 is 16.5 mm (US 6), 14 is 17.3 mm (US 7), 16 is 18.1 mm (US 8), 18 is 19.0 mm (US 9). Between sizes, go up. Measure in the evening.
Bangles
Measure your hand, not your wrist: tuck the thumb into the palm and measure around the knuckles. 17–17.5 cm is size 2.4, 18–18.5 cm is 2.6, 19–19.5 cm is 2.8. If you can only guess, guess 2.6.
Bracelets
Measure the wrist just below the wrist bone and add 1.5–2 cm. Most ORIVA bracelets are made at 17.8 cm (7 inches), for a wrist of 15.5–16 cm. Any other length is made to your measurement at no extra cost.
Necklaces
40 cm sits at the base of the throat, 45 cm just below the collarbone, 50 cm at the top of the neckline, 60 cm at the sternum. Check with a piece of string in front of a mirror.
Every day
Gold is soft and a set stone sits on tiny metal claws. Almost all the damage we see is ordinary life rather than accident.
- Put it on last — after cream, perfume and hairspray. They leave a film that dulls a stone faster than anything else.
- Take it off for the gym, the pool and the sink. Impact loosens claws; chlorine attacks the alloy in gold, not the gold itself.
- Sleep without it. A night of turning does more to a claw than a week of wear.
- Store it separately. A laboratory-grown diamond is as hard as a natural one and will scratch every other piece in the box, including your other diamonds.
Cleaning at home
Warm water, one drop of plain dish soap, a soft toothbrush. Work the brush on the underside of the setting — that is where the film sits, and it is why a stone goes flat long before it is scratched. Rinse, then dry on a lint-free cloth.
No toothpaste, no bicarbonate, no ultrasonic tank at home. All three are abrasive enough to scuff gold.
Twice a year, check the settings
Hold the piece close to your ear and tap it gently with a fingernail. A loose stone rattles — you will hear it before you can see it. If it rattles, stop wearing it and send it in.
What we do
- Cleaning and polishing — free, for as long as you own the piece. Not once a year. Whenever it needs it.
- Resetting a loose stone — free. A stone that works loose in normal wear is our setting, not your handling.
- Resizing — free once within the first year. Full eternity bands cannot be resized without remaking them, and the product page says so before you buy.
- Replacing a lost stone — at cost, quoted before we start.
These lapse if a piece has been altered or repaired by another jeweller. We cannot stand behind work we did not do.
Sending a piece in
Write to sales@orivajewels.in first — we will often tell you it does not need to travel at all. If it does, we confirm the pickup and the address with you first.
Anything not covered here, write to sales@orivajewels.in or call +91 98196 65350, Monday to Sunday, 9.00 am to 7.30 pm. A person answers.
